Bits be gone

You may have noticed, this blog got a bit shorter. A few articles disappeared. Even though my legal advisors felt that I was entirely within my rights in stating what I did, I would have needed > 5000 $ to begin to fight it, so I decided to take the pages down for now. This does not mean that I was wrong, it just means that I don't have the money to fight for free speech.

But who knows, maybe I'll win the lottery this weekend?

  1. This is disgusting. Your employer ought to put up that amount of money or at least guarantee it. But why is that needed in any case. A cease and desist letter is not an order to stop things and that would need to be fought with lawyers, it just says that if you do not do what we want we may sue you; formal intimidation so to say. So what would the $5000 have been for??

  2. They have already sued. But against John and Jane Doe. It's intimidation, that's for sure. You have to have money to prove that you are right, I find this very sad.

  3. If you do not trust your own statements/comments and afraid of possible lawsuits, I think it is better to close the blog rather than asking for money.

  4. Oh, I trust my own statements - but in the USA he who has money can bully those without. I'm not asking for money, and I will surely be back on the topic of fake conferences, as I will be giving a talk on the topic later this year.

  5. Just a note: Anonymous of 12:26 posted the comment from an IP address in Tallahassee, Fl. And they come by every day to see if the deleted entries are deleted....
